The article analyses the means of musical expression as an element of artistic-productive side of the performing process. On the basis of theoretical analysis was the basic means of expression in music, which are harmony, harmony, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, tone, articulation and intonation. The author came to the conclusion that in the long history of professional musical art has gained a rich and diverse palette of embodying the musical content. Intonation and melody, metrorhythm and tempo, mood and harmony, texture, timbre, all music, taken together, form a complex multilateral system. Each element of the system interacts with its other components. Mastering of musical expression - amputation in music's most distinctive characteristics: volume, sound altitude, tempo, timbre and character of the sound, form, genre, and determination of their role in the creation of the musical image, in other words, it is the development of musical language.
