Ways of expressing elements of constructions with causative linking verbs in languages of distinct structure

The article studies ways of expressing elements of constructions with causative linking verbs in English and Ukrainian. The results of the research are illustrated by the causative construction samples with the most frequent linking verbs let and давати. The integration of methodological approach of construction grammar, cognitive and comparative linguistics approaches enables to define the invariant meaning of the category of causation along with various context meanings of this category determined by a distinct structure of the languages in question. The study proves that English and Ukrainian demonstrate a great degree of similarity in the ways of expressing elements of constructions with causative linking verbs.
