The statute of limitations: theoretical aspects and law enforcement practice

The article examines current issues of the application of acquisitive prescription as the basis for the emergence of property rights, and provides a general theoretical analysis of the development of the institution of acquisitive prescription in Russia, the points of view of civil law scholars regarding doctrinal approaches to determining the criteria necessary to establish the right to claim real estate by acquisitive prescription are examined, and the materials of the practice of courts of general jurisdiction in cases of acquisition of property rights by acquisitive prescription are analyzed.
