Formation and development of the system of counteracting legalization (laundering) of proceeds obtained from crimes in the sphere of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances: historical analysis

The fight against illicit drug trafficking must be viewed through the prism of historical sequence as a complex multi-stage process. The authors examine the origin of the concept «money laundering» and the integration of this concept into the legal systems of individual states as well as highlight the stages of formation and development of international legal and domestic systems for combating legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crimes related to illicit drug trafficking.
