Formation and development of the theory of separation of powers

The article is devoted to the historical development of the theory of separation of powers. The main milestones in its formation are considered: antiquity, the Age of Enlightenment, the US Constitution of 1787. The points of view of figures of various historical epochs are given: Plato, Aristotle, J. Locke, S.L. Montesquieu, Hamilton and others. The article reflects the consistent development of the theory of separation of powers, its improvement. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that, in general, the concept of the principle of separation of powers was formed by the "founding fathers" of the United States.
