Formation of pedagogical position of private schools directors in prerevolutionary Saint-Petersburg in the end of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century

The article considers the problem of formation of professional teaching positions of Directors of private schools pre-revolutionary Russia. Special attention is given to identifying personality traits inherent to the Director of a private school, an attempt is made considering the problems characteristic of the education system of the late XIX - early XX century.
