The author has created a scientific portrait of a prominent scientist. historian of pedagogy Lilia Anatolyevna Stepashko. He made a significant contribution to the development of the history of national pedagogy and philosophy of education. The research method used by the author in the proposed article is the identification of the genetic foundations of L. A. Stepashko's research. The author shows that the formation of L. A. Stepashko was influenced by M. A. Danilov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, who was her first scientific supervisor in postgraduate studies, and Z. I. Ravkin, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, who advised her while working on her doctoral dissertation. Scientific relations between L. A. Stepashko and these scientists manifested themselves in different ways. Under the guidance of M. A. Danilov, a worldview was formed, a novice researcher was mastered, provisions were developed that in the future will form the basis of the author's scientific school "The Genesis of the Ideas of Human-Sized Education in Russian Pedagogy: A Look into the Future". These are, first of all, the ideas of Russian humanistic pedagogy and pedagogical anthropology, interest in pedagogical methodology, and the introduction of concepts into the active scientific vocabulary, expanding the vocabulary of Soviet pedagogy, etc. Z. I. Ravkin became for L. A. Stepashko a conductor of a new historical and pedagogical methodology, developed in the 90s of the last century with his direct participation in the laboratory and scientific council headed by him on the problems of the history of education and pedagogical science. Lilia Anatolyevna became a popularizer of Z. I. Ravkin's discoveries, who represented the scientific school of Z. I. Ravkin, the leading one in the Far East. Synthesis of scientific traditions of M. A. Danilov and Z. I. Ravkin, carried out by L. A. Stepashko, making possible the birth of a new scientific school, within the framework of which research was carried out on the history of pedagogy and the history of pedagogical methodology.
