Stereotypical mage of bread as food product made of flour and represented as item of certain form

The article is devoted to the linguistic-culturological description of the stereotypical image of bread as a food product made of flour and represented as an item of a certain shape, in connection with which the question of the possibility of designating one of the lexical and semantic variants of the word “bread” is considered as an independent stereotypical visualization that exists in the mind and is determined by the national-cultural specifics of this image. On the basis of the methodology proposed by V.V. Krasnykh for compiling a dictionary article to describe the fragments of Russian cultural space the author revealed specific features in the perception of the meaning of the word “bread”; certain facts characteristic of Russian culture and life-activity of Russian people are reflected in this Russian word.
