Cultural -musical life in Karelia in the thirties of XX century

The article deals with one of the innovations in the Karelian culture in the thirties of the XX century. This fact is connected with the revival of Karelian and Finnish folk musical instrument - kantele, its development and use in professional musical art. The initiator of the process was V.P. Gudkov, who first created experimental kantele orchestra and later the State Ensemble of Song and Dance “Kantele”, which became the essential part of musical life in Karelia and in Russia.
