While translating literary text a translator needs to decide which strategy should be followed. The main strategies of literary translation are the domestication, according to which the translation is adapted to the culture of the foreign language, and forenization, according to which the translator preserves the author's style and realia, and immerses the reader in a different culture. The research has shown that a translator should combine the existing strategies in order to preserve the artistic and aesthetic uniqueness of the work.
