This research is carried out within the framework of linguistic imagology and analyses the representation of the image of Russia in different fictional genres by authors from Latin American countries. The aim of the study is to identify the strategies and tactics used to create the image of a foreign country by the writers. Interpretative analysis and contextual analysis of the text were used as research methods. The following strategies were identified: nominative, descriptive, narrative and commenting strategies. The most frequent themes that Ibero-American writers address when narrating about Russia are: description of the character and appearance of the people inhabiting Russia; criticism or solidarity with the political system; the severe climate; and Russian literature.
