Stratification of the space of industrial regions: general and special development of manufacturing industry

In the conditions of instability of the external economic situation, the main burden of foreign markets substitution is placed on industrial regions, especially on the manufacturing sector. Preserving the dynamics of the Russian economy, and the process of transition to the post-industrial stage of development are complicated by the need to simultaneously solve the problem of changing the sectoral structure in the conditions of heterogeneity of regions. Differences in the technological effectiveness of the regional industry predetermine the need to diagnose the state, monitor trends in the development of the manufacturing industry, and focus on the benefits and measures to strengthen the potential of the economy. The purpose of the study is to assess the structure and classify the economic space of industrial regions, identify sectors with high, medium-high, medium-low or low levels of technological effectiveness ((HT, HMT), LMT, LT sectors) and analyze the changes in the diversification of the manufacturing industry. The article presents a typology of industrial regions, identifies groups of subjects of the Russian Federation of different levels of technological effectiveness ((HT, HMT), LMT, LT regions), reveals structural differences, identifies a set of advantages of the industrial and innovative basis, regional conditions, and the degree of stability. The role of LMT regions in the transformation of our country's industry is revealed. The applied value of the study is to determine the specifics of the functioning of regions of different types in the interests of segmentation of industrial policy, the development of promising sectors of the economy, and the formation of directions for structural adaptation. The article uses methods of analysis, synthesis, and statistical methods of evaluation.
