The model of the student government, developed by the model of self-government of the Great Patriotic educator A.S. Makarenko, but transformed in accordance with the present situation in vocational education, is presented. The essence of the concept of "self-government" is disclosed from a scientific point of view. The aims and objectives of government, its functions and structure are shown. The authors identified key indicators of effective government.
