The main scientific approaches to understanding the phenomenon of «psychological readiness for activity are considered». The author’s understanding of the psychological readiness of servicemen to perform service and combat missions is presented. A variant of a questionnaire compiled to assess this readiness is described. On the basis of the factor analysis, the previously determined readiness components were refined.
