We compared frequencies of genotypes and alleles in indigenous and non - indigenous population of the Republic Yakutia (Yakutes, Russians). Frequencies of cytokine genes alleles were found to be significantly different between them in comparison with world populations. Russians were similar to European populations whereas Yakutes showed similarity to Asian populations except TNFA gene. No one of these alleles was associated with multiple sclerosis in Russians. In multiple sclerosis Yakut patients, there was higher prevalence of alleles marker of TNFA*А (0.357 and 0.133 respectively, р=0.005) compared to controls.
