The aim of the article is to present the structural organization of conceptual and categorical framework of educational governance theory in domestic pedagogy in the second half of the 20th - early 21st century. Applying the field approach in the study allows us to define the conceptual and categorical framework of educational governance theory as a three-component structure, including a nuclear, a sub-nuclear and a peripheral zone. The article identifies three groups of nuclear zone categories - general scientific, pedagogical, and educational management theory categories. The conceptual groups of the nuclear zone, denoting principles of educational management, educational management functions, technologies and methods of educational management, educational quality management, managerial relations in education, are briefly characterized. Authors emphasize that conceptual groups of the prinuclear zone are formed due to internal generalization and systematization of the concepts. The peripheral zone, which includes concepts borrowed from the general management theory and insufficiently filled with pedagogical content, is presented.
