Structural and semantic characteristics of the West European lexical borrowings and the sphere of their functioning in the Turkish language

The article deals with the West European borrowings in the modern Turkish literary language. There is given a brief structural and semantic characteristics, there are defined the spheres of functioning this lexical layer. The borrowings from the Italian, German, French and English languages are in focus.
