Student sports clubs as a form of education for youth in the higher school of Russia

Currently, the formation of a healthy lifestyle in young people is receiving greater attention from state structures and scientific schools. It is necessary to find the most interesting forms of organizing mass physical culture and sports work among young people. One of these forms is student sports clubs organized in the higher school. Within the framework of this study, the authors consider student clubs as one of the forms of educational work carried out with young people at universities. The analysis of normative legal documents in the field of physical culture, sports, and education, as well as consideration of the activities of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia, allowed the authors to come to the following conclusions: the organization and development of student sports clubs at universities is initiated by students; state structures are ready to support the activities of student sports clubs, as their organization has an impact on the development of mass sports among students and the improvement of the health of the nation as a whole; the activities of student sports clubs are aimed not only at sports development, but also at the formation of professional competencies in the field of management, marketing, and PR.
