Students in the planned economy era

The article examines the state of the Soviet higher education in the 30-ies of the 20 th century based on the book by V. A. Bogdan “Students of First Five-Year Plan”: features of admission to universities, forms and methods of training, requirements for students, ideological tasks of social sciences, etc. The author notes conditionality of activities of higher schools in the USSR and the requirements of the national character, planned approach to training of specialists.
