Essence, main characteristics and approaches to the development of sociocultural personal identity

The article investigates and systematizes social prerequisites, changes in structure and specificity of social communities, general psychological trends associated with the emergence of the “sociocultural identity” phenomenon. As a result of theoretical sources analysis, the author identifies the main methodological positions of the system, anthropological, axiological and sociocultural approaches to revealing the essence and development features of sociocultural identity. Consideration of the main characteristics of sociocultural identity, its manifestations in internal and external aspects, main functions defines the purpose and content of the effective development of this phenomenon.
