The essence of regional resources and problematic aspects of their rational use in modern conditions

The article examines the theoretical foundations of tangible and intangible assets at the regional level of national economic management. The analysis of the relationship of such concepts as «assets», «resources» and «factors of territory development» is carried out. The analysis of existing interpretations of the term «regional assets» allowed us to identify the key characteristics of such assets, which allowed us to formulate the authors definition of the term under study. To clarify the role of regional assets, their analysis and assessment of their impact on the socio-economic development of the territory, the classification of the territorys assets was carried out.
