The article is dedicated to the key aspects of the essence of modern prosecutor's supervision. The role of prosecutor's supervision in the system of ensuring human and civil rights and freedoms is determined. The functions and main features characteristic of the prosecutor's supervision are studied. Prosecutorial supervision is divided into supervision over the implementation of laws and the legality of legal acts; supervision over the observance of human and civil rights and freedoms; supervision of the implementation of laws by bodies carrying out operational-search activities.
