The Essence of Electricity Transmission Services in the Russian Energy System

The article is devoted to the description of the key function of ensuring the functioning of the Russian electric power industry the transmission of electric energy from the power plants of the UES of Russia, which generate electricity and capacity, to consumers of electricity connected to the facilities of the electric grid. The article provides a detailed description of the processes of electric energy transmission in the Russian energy system, with a description of the features of the distribution of transmission services within different voltage levels. It describes the essence of the transmission of electric energy through mainline electric networks, namely ultra-high voltage class networks (220, 330, 500, 750 and 1150 kV), and regional high voltage class distribution networks of 110 kV (150 kV) and below, and describes the interaction between mainline and regional electric networks and enterprises for the management of such types of electric grid facilities. The article presents the specifics of setting electricity transmission tariffs for mainline and regional networks, as well as describes the specifics of setting these types of tariffs with references to legislation. It also describes the features of the components of electricity transmission tariffs - the rate for the maintenance of electric networks and the rate for the payment of losses in electric networks, as well as the essence and procedure for establishing each component. The theoretical and practical results presented in the materials of the article can be useful in practical activities for employees of energy companies, industrial enterprises, as well as representatives of executive authorities in the field of regulating the activities of electric power industry entities.
