This article presents the continuation of the translation from Latin into Russian of the first book of the treatise of St. Augustine of Hippo «On Baptism against the Donatists» (De Baptismo contra Donatistas) - chapters V-IX. The treatise was written by St. Augustine in 400-401 AD within the framework of his polemics with the schismatic Donatist movement, which originated in North Africa at the beginning of the 4th century AD. The work stands out from the other antidonatist works of St. Augustine, first and foremost, because it is an integral treatise, and, secondly, it was written by him before the authorities of the Roman Empire were involved in the conflict. In the following chapters, the author gives arguments based on Holy Scripture in favor of the Church’s teaching on the validity of Baptism performed outside the Church.
