The connection of the childbearing plans of Russian youth with their attitude to the LGBT problem

This article examines the attitude of young people to LGBT as a factor influencing childbearing plans. Data from various domestic and foreign studies are presented, in which the problem of LGBT people is considered through the attitude of the population not only to the phenomenon as a whole, but also to the accompanying attributes of this unconditionally negative subspecies of interpersonal relations. As part of this work, we conducted our own empirical research in the format of a social survey. During the survey, respondents were divided into several categories in order to establish exactly how the intentions for childbearing and attitude to the LGBT problem are related. Despite the decision to primarily consider young people as the target audience, it was also decided to use a mass questionnaire to consider the vision on the issues from the older generation. All tabular data and calculations presented in the article are based on our own social survey, which included a sample of 451 respondents aged 18 to 55 and over. The age sample is conditioned by the need to consider the issue through the triangulation of the views of three generations, namely people who are just entering into family relationships (or similar to family ones), people who already have a family and possibly children, as well as people who have already completely passed all stages of family relations. It is impossible not to mention the concept of traditional family values within the framework of the state family policy until 2025, as well as its relationship with the childbearing plans of citizens, which is associated with the basic aspirations of each individual in planning his own family. Within the framework of our joint work, the social phenomenon considered in this publication is one of the factors influencing family planning and attitudes towards the institution of children.
