The relationship between the psychological space of actors and their hardiness (based on a survey of railway employees)

The paper analyzes the formal and substantive structural aspects of the psychological space (the real and ideal vision of life) of station masters on duty. The phenomenon of psychological space is theoretically analyzed; a methodical procedure for studying the aspects of the psychological space of the actor is tested. The research examines the structural features of the psychological space of respondents based on the empirical material collected in the Moscow-Smolensk Railway Station Management Center. The study discusses the relationship of the structure of psychological space with the indicators of personal potential identified by different techniques, in particular, the relationship between the features of psychological space and the level of hardiness. The pilot study findings reveal that the real and ideal psychological spaces differ in simple/complex characteristics and one-dimensional/multi-dimensional structure.
