Freedom of conscience and religion as an object criminal legal protection

The article is devoted to the consideration of freedom of conscience and religion as an object of criminal law protection. The study provides the basic basic concepts of "freedom", "conscience" and "religion." Their relationship and various interpretations available in the scientific community are considered. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that freedom of conscience should be considered as a generic concept, and freedom of religion as a specific one. And, since freedom of conscience and religion is at the heart of a secular state, which is the Russian Federation, the protection of these freedoms is of heightened significance.
