The study is devoted to the analysis of the legal dogma (axiom) of freedom of labor, similar to the concept of the right to work. The possibility of omission in the legal doctrine of the philosophical concept of non-free will is considered. The rationale is given in favor of restricting the freedom of subjects of labor relations when concluding an employment contract. The study correlates the philosophical concept of non-free will and the legal principle of the right to work in the context of historical materialism. The author comes to the conclusion about the ambiguity of the question of the existence of non-free will in labor relations.
