The originality of the Russian fairy tale "Fedor Bermyatin" in the context of the myth-making of the Yukagirs

This article examines the origins of the Russian fairy tale about Fyodor Bermyatin, the hypothesis of its folklorization is confirmed, the similarity with the established maternal version - the legend of Polyphemus is considered. The book origin of the fairy tale, which occurred in the late Middle Ages, is also noted. Yukaghir motifs in the variation "Peter Berbeekin" are considered, research is summarized, and a conclusion is made about the originality of both versions of the fairy tale.
