Taxis of precedence in German

This article deals with the issue of actualization of the primary-taxis categorial semantics of the precedence in the German language. In the examined statements of the German language with monotaxis prepositions of temporal semantics vor, bis/bis zu, primary-taxis categorical situations of precedence of two variants are actualized: strict (distant) precedence and non-strict (contact) precedence. The monotaxis preposition of temporal semantics vor marks primary-taxis categorial situations of strict precedence, and the monotaxis preposition of temporal meaning bis/bis zu is a marker of primary-taxis categorical situations of non-strict precedence. Additional monocomponent/multicomponent temporal and aspectual quantifiers marking the semantics of strict or non-strict precedence may include various temporal/aspectual adverbials, attributes, as well as «calendar» and other temporal nouns.
