Theatrical novel: a version of Don Juan(G.Torrente Ballester's "Don Juan")

We study the genre features and problem areas of the novel "Don Juan"by Gonzalo Torrente Ballester (1963). Special attention is paid to the theat-rical poetics of the novel's narrative. It is concluded that the elements oftheatrical poetics (theater chronotope, theatrical behavior of the characters /masks, theatrical rhetoric, the elements of pantomime etc.) shape the novelas an artistic whole and build the vertical meanings.
