Technology is regarded as an ideology which today replaces the so-called traditional ideological structures, particularly political ones. In the author’s opinion, the ideological role of technology lies in the fact that it serves as the main tool for arranging social connections and relationships. In particular, modern information technology has a great impact on all social processes and penetrates deeper into them compared to other technologies. Based on the analysis of various Russian and international studies, the author concludes that social relationships are mediated by technology. In a certain sense, they are a technology that is treated as a condition for the vision of the world and sets the appropriate optics. Traditional ideologies lose their relevance, become atavism and are used only as elements of governance in the political sphere formatted with technical rationality. Political practice is a technical practice. The utopian projectivity of politics is replaced by technical management.
