Oil flax can be referred to a few technical crops, which can give two types of products: seeds and fiber in one time. Fiber content in the stalks of oil flax is about 20%. The use of fibers from oil flax stalks and straw can increase significantly the income of a flax farm and the employment level of the rural areas, expand the range of industrial enterprises for processing fibrous raw materials and reduce the agricultural-ecosystems destruction. Today there are some models of the technological equipment for the processing of oil flax straw into short fiber. The objective of this study is to determine the most effective lines of the processing equipment for oil flax straw due to the features its cultivation in the Northern and Southern regions. The calculation of technical and economic parameters of three various lines for oil flax straw processing is submitted for sowing areas 1000 and 5000 ha, straw yields 0.5 t per ha - for the northern regions and 1.0 t per ha for the southern ones. This calculation showed the processing of oil flax stalks is economically reasonable whereas much smaller qualitative characteristics of fiber from oil flax, compared to short and monotypic fiber of fiber flax. The most effective is the industrial model on processing of oil flax stalks and straw from a sowing area under crop of 5000 ha at crop productivity not less than 1 t per ha on the equipment including disintegrator or machine AKLV-1-01.
