Technologies of involving senior citizens in working life (review of foreign practices)

Ageing of population is a global trend that requires modernization of existing institutions to create conditions for a decent and proactive old age. The present study examines the analysis of foreign practices in involving senior citizens in working life. Based on the systematization of foreign research there were identified: main problems of employment of retired persons, as well as the most popular tools and technologies for involving and keeping them in the labour sphere. The study places emphasis on only on the development of government programs and initiatives regarding the considered socio-demographic group, but also on the efficient tools of solving the raised problem at organizational level. The authors note that only a comprehensive approach and the creation of interconnected institutions can ensure the development of new mechanisms of employment relations at labour market and the demand for elderly workers. It is highlighted that the effectiveness of introducing foreign technologies and tools in Russian management depends on the following: quality of preliminary analysis of their demand; their adaptation taking into account existing resource limitations (concerning financial and management aspects) of Russian companies and the established management practices; development of a new culture of ageing.
