The article explores the theme of spirituality in Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel “The Brothers Karamazov”, employing hermeneutic, contextual, comparative, and other research methods. The duality in the portrayal of the divine is noteworthy. On the one hand, it is a completely positive image, which is expressed by the characters of the novel, the elder Zosimas and Alexei Karamazov; on the other hand, the novel’s complex philosophical and psychological composition justifies Dostoevsky’s exploration of the truthfulness of divine representation of God and the entire religious in the general eventuality of the work. The analysis concludes that the theme of spirituality in Dostoevsky’s “The Brothers Karamazov” ultimately emphasizes that attaining the highest freedom necessitates personal sacrifice. This theme is intricately woven into the characters’ journeys and the novel’s overarching philosophical inquiries.
