The purpose of the study: Omor Sultanov, a national poet, writer, screenwriter and public figure, devoted his whole life to selfless service for the benefit of the Kyrgyz people. The first works and articles of Omor Sultanov were published in 1953. He is the author of scripts for such full-length feature and documentary films as “Tokmo / Improvisation”, “Zhazuuchu / Writer”, “Ak Kuular Kongon Aidyn Kol / Moon Lake, Where White Swans Land”, etc., screened by the film studio “Kyrgyzfilm”. The poet showed his true talent in the genre of prose. In collaboration with the German writer Leo Herman, in a sharply adventure genre that has not previously been seen in Kyrgyz prose, a series of such novels in Russian was written and published in Russian, such as “Pirates involuntarily”, “Dragon’s Island”, “The Mysterious Horseman” and “News from that world”. The works of O. Sultanov were published in Russian, English, German, Spanish, French, Mongolian, Polish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Slovak, Czech and other languages. In almost all works, scenes from the life of the poet receive their second aesthetic embodiment. True creativity is inseparable from the process of formation and personal life of a person. After all, any creative person, using his innate talent, creates a work of art, embodying in it what he has seen, heard and experienced in his personal life, various life situations and events in society. The main purpose of this scientific article is to identify how the theme of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was reflected in the work of the great poet. The novelty of the article lies in the absence of scientific research on the topic of war in the works of Omor Sultanov.
