Subject matter of the decorative and applied art works of the Buryats at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries

The author of the article touches upon the subject matter of the Buryats’ decorative and applied art. The samples of the works in various materials and techniques in the context of the regional historical development are given. The main theme is connected with the search, recomprehension of the ancient history of the peoples of the Baikal region, preservation of the artistic traditions of the nomadic and Buddhist culture.
