The themes and problems in the poem “Two hundred and ten steps” by R. I. Rozhdestvensky

The article reviews the topical problem of modern Russian literature - the study of the poetic heritage of R. I. Rozhdestvensky. The work of the poet, as well as the work of virtually all his colleagues (E. A. Evtushenko, A. A. Voznesensky, B. A. Akhmadulina, etc.) is insufficiently studied, although it's an important part of the history of Russian literature of the second half of the 20th century which incorporates 40 years of experience in development of artistic and social consciousness of the country. The article reviews the thematic content of one of the most important poems by Rozhdestvensky "Two hundred and ten steps" in the context of the literary process of the 1970s. The poem sections devoted to the themes of "war" and "peace" reveal the moral and aesthetic principles of the poet, his attitude to actual problems of the world community, which is relevant to the second decade of the 21st century.
