Trends in translating movie titles in the context of modern Russian cinema market

The article displays the current trends in translation of movie titles by the example of English language feature films, released in Russia in 2014-2015. It traces the strategies used in the translation, and analyzes the advisability of their choice in specific cases. The analysis reveals the fact of translational orientation on solely publicity purposes, which raises the question of admissibility of presenting fully transformed movie titles that do not meet the original text, and the author’s message.
