The article discusses the development trends of world winemaking. The causes and directions of transformational changes in the global wine industry were studied. The dynamics of wine production in the main producing countries is analyzed, the role of state regulation of the industry in the development of its competitiveness is assessed. In addition, the features of the action of external forces in the industry are revealed.
