Trends of development of the sphere of services in Russia

The article deals with the dynamics of development of the service sector in Russia in the conditions when the prolonged global economic crisis poses an urgent problem of determining the mechanisms of its overcoming. The economic importance of the service sector objectively increases in the phase of the crisis, as it allows to significantly expand production, makes it possible to equalize the standard of living. The article shows the applicability of the theory of sectors in modern conditions with a shift towards the dominance of the service sector. The development of the Quaternary sector was also noted. It includes information technology, education, research, banking and financial services. The growth of this sector is inherent in a highly developed country, because it is associated with highly qualified personnel. The connection between the development of services with the income of the population and the degree of their differentiation is traced.
