Theoretical aspects of developing metacompetency in the process of foreign language teaching

The article focuses on the development of students’ intellectual and personal qualities in the system of linguistic education in university. On the assumption of new requirements to management of knowledge, the author highlights the necessity of metacompetency development at students. The results of the analysis of the researches in the field of psychology, cognitive psychology and knowledge management have allowed the author to reveal and substantiate the characteristics of metacompetency and the main components of its content.
