the article presents the main provisions of the system approach to enterprise activity planning; the factors reflecting the objective need for the use of a system approach in planning research are presented. The paper also presents various points of view of economic scientists regarding the basic model of the planning system. The rationale for the need to improve the planning system at the enterprise and the proposed directions for its improvement are given.
