Theoretical aspects of research of technological entrepreneurial activity

The article shows the relevance of the research due to the influence of entrepreneurship on the territory’s socio-economic development, the jobs creation and social stability maintenance. The author pays attention to the presence in the scientific literature of controversial provisions regarding approaches to the definition of entrepreneurial activity. With this in mind, the theoretical aspects analysis of the entrepreneurial activity study, including technological entrepreneurship, is performed. Among the tasks is to identify approaches to the definition of entrepreneurial activity, highlight the main entrepreneurial activity features, as well as those features that characterize technological entrepreneurship as one of the types of entrepreneurial activity.Intheresearch,basedonthedomesticandforeignexperienceanalysis,approachestothe interpretation of population’s entrepreneurial activity were identified, both of a general nature and containing separate accents (attention is paid to the business creation, the availability of certain resources and abilities to implement these goals, etc.). The researcher concludes that it is necessary to take into account both general formulations in which entrepreneurial activity isconsidered from the point of view of creating one’s own business, and those formulations that include certain characteristics of the concept. The empirical data analysis allowed establishing that technological entrepreneurs are distinguished by the presentation of ideas and innovative proposals, carried out with the help of technological competencies and related knowledge among the implementers of these ideas; the basis for technological entrepreneurship is a high educational level, the presence of previous work experience in scientific activities or activities related to the creation of inventions, an attitude to creativity and innovation, technologies and their use in activities. The practical significance of the research lies in determining the characteristics that can be used to identify technology entrepreneurs and be taken into account when creating an environment for the manifestation of this activity type.
