The article reveals the psychological-pedagogical and methodical aspects of the problem of the universal educational pupils' activities development in the process of studying literature. The interpretations of the notions «universal educational activities», «reading activity», «reading skills» are suggested. Some ways of the universal activities development in the interaction with the reading skills are considered.
