Economic crises are becoming increasingly common in Russia and the world. To manage them effectively, it is necessary to understand what exactly is meant by the term «economic crisis». This determines how successfully crisis management theory will be applied in practice. It is also important to analyze the experience of overcoming past crises in the Russian economy in order to assess the effectiveness of the authorities' actions. Object: to analyze the concept and essence of the economic crisis, assess the experience of overcoming crises in Russia using the example of the crises of 2008 and 2022. Research objectives: 1. Study the literature on the topic of economic crises and their management. 2. Analyze the concept and essence of the economic crisis. 3. Assess the experience of overcoming crises in Russia using the example of the crises of 2008 and 2022. 4. Identify the most effective methods for managing economic crises.
