Theoretical and practical prerequisites for tourism development in the regions of the Great Tea Road (the case of the Republic of Buryatia)

The article considers theoretical and practical problems of international tourism development against the background of strengthening the external relations between Russia and the Eastern neighbouring countries. It has been established that cross-border tourism with Mongolia will promote the development of bilateral relations, and Russian-Chinese cooperation are determined by a number of factors, including the promotion of transit corridor projects of The Eurasian Economic Union and the economic zone of The Great Silk Road. To map the natural and historical objects of tourism at the regional level, methodical grounds for information and cartographic support have been developed and "The Great Tea Way" GIS has been created within the Republic of Buryatia.
