The article substantiates the theoretical foundations of psychological and pedagogical support for substitute families in the aspect of intra-family relationships. Attention is focused on the specifics of intra-family relationships as a key factor in the successful adaptation and development of an adopted child. The key theoretical provisions defining the content and methods of psychological and pedagogical support for surrogate families in the aspect of intra-family relationships are considered: attachment theory, systemic family therapy, theory of trauma and family resources. The importance of taking into account the specific needs of foster children and substitute parents for the formation of healthy and functional intra-family relationships is emphasized.
