Theoretical foundations of the formation of a tolerant personality and their implementation in history lessons through the project method

The article is devoted to the study of current methods of tolerance formation in history lessons in high school. It examines the essence, the concept of tolerance and the peculiarities of its development among the younger generation in a multi-ethnic Russian society. It emphasizes the need for Russian students living in a multinational country to know and respect the history, culture, traditions, and mentality of all peoples living in the Russian Federation. The author analyzes the forms and methods of teaching that will contribute to the formation of tolerance of each student. This paper reveals not only theoretical, but also practical aspects of the formation of tolerance in history and social studies lessons, and also substantiates promising approaches to the development of historical education, taking into account the multicultural nature of Russian society.
