Theoretical foundations and international legal regimes for the protection of cultural property during armed conflicts

Armed conflicts affect not only the present life of people, but also their cultural values, which is an essential part of every nation. Therefore, the problems of protecting cultural values are becoming urgent at the moment. This article has reviewed and analyzed the main international documents that relate to the protection of cultural values during armed conflicts. Also, annotation characterized three ways of protection of cultural values: general, special and enhanced protection.
